THEME OF THE PROJECT
How they laughed, how we laugh. The Italian comedy
Rodolfo Sonego Award is a competition of short film scripts created by Lago Film Fest in collaboration with Holden School in Turin, founded by Alessandro Baricco. The aim of the projectis to give to the young finalists the possibility of growing and exchanging views. They also undertake a training course of improvement, translation and presentation of their works, in order to realize a movie. The programme is divided into three phases: the Summer Camp (on July), a 4-days workshop during Lago Film Fest period, where they develop the scripts thanks to nationally acclaimed professionals’ mentoring; the Venice Film Festival (on September) and the Turin Short Film Market(on November) where they look for a co-production of their works translated in English with national and international broadcasters and production companies. The theme of 2020 edition is comedy, not only as the art of fun and entertainment, but also as the simple and deep linguistic form suitable to different layers of interpretation.
